The National Association for Healthcare Quality’s (NAHQ) vision is to realize the promise of healthcare improvement through innovative practices in quality and patient safety. To help NAHQ achieve its vision and carry out its purpose, we are excited to announce that in lieu of a traditional annual conference in 2015, we plan to deliver an innovative educational Summit.
In 2013, the NAHQ board of directors made a strategic decision to move the annual conference from the regular fall timeframe to a late winter/early spring event. The goal of this change was to reduce competition for our conference. Implementing such a change does not come easily or quickly; it will take 2 or more years to realize that vision.
As we transition, we want to remain relevant and visible to you and to that end, we plan to showcase our leadership in the healthcare quality industry by hosting a Summit titled “Transitions Across the Healthcare Continuum: Improving Quality and Safety.” At this event, NAHQ will lead important conversations about quality and its impact on transitions in care.
The Summit will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Philadelphia from April 22-24, 2015. Further details will be available by late summer 2014. NAHQ also plans to host a Summit in 2016 – location, dates and other information will be finalized in the coming months.
While the coming years bring exciting changes for NAHQ and for you as a member, you can remain confident that NAHQ will continue to seek opportunities for you to gain useful education, and learn and network with fellow healthcare quality professionals.
One such opportunity is the 2014 annual conference, which remains on schedule for September 7-10, 2014, in Nashville. We hope you’ve made plans to join us in person or online through the virtual option. Complete details and registration are now available atwww.NAHQ.org/conference14.
If you have remaining questions about this change, please feel free to contact us or read the Frequently Asked Questions for more information. Thank you for being an important part of NAHQ! Your involvement is critical to our current success and the future of our organization.
Sincerely,
