Please find below the candidate for the President-Elect position on the AAHQ board. You will also see a place for a write-in candidate if you would like to vote for someone other than our nominee. Please place an “x” in the blank spot beside the candidate that you wish to vote for to hold the President-elect position for the remainder of this year and serve as AAHQ President in 2023. Devin Terry
Devin Terry, PhDc, MSN, RN, CNS-BC, CPHQ, has served as Director of the Clinical Education, Nursing Practice and Policy, and Transitions to Practice since March 2020. Devin has been with UAMS since 2008. She has led teams focused on process improvement, patient safety, and employee engagement in these roles. The current project consists of process improvement focusing on streamlined employee onboarding, the effects of excellent onboarding on the patient experience, and process improvement for HAI. Other duties include work related to a robust Interprofessional Orientation, competency development, growing and mentoring new graduate RNs, and much more within the organization. She also oversees all nursing policies within Patient Care Services. Devin is currently seeking her Ph.D. in the UAMS College of Nursing, with a focus of study on Acute Care RNs Perceptions of Usefulness and Ease of Use related to Clinical Decision Tools in today’s EHR. Devin’s sight on completion is 2022. Devin has a wealth of experience having recently practiced as a Clinical Specialist (CS) for the Surgical Specialties Service Line and as the Lead CS for the ambulatory practice settings. She has served as a clinical instructor of nursing, a stroke coordinator, and an adult and pediatric oncology nurse. She has broad experience applying regulatory requirements to inpatient, ambulatory, and procedural areas. Devin received the UAMS Daisy Nurse Leader award from the National Daisy Foundation in November 2021, 40 Under 40 Nurse Leaders from ACN, and Great 100 Nurses of Aransas in March 2018. She received her Masters’ Degree in Nursing from the University of Central Arkansas in May 2007 and gained her CPHQ in 2015.
